My friend, my mentor, my roller derby team captain was diagnosed with breast cancer two weeks ago.
When she broke the news to our team, we were all devastated. We were crying, sobbing, complete messes. We aren’t just team mates, we are family. When one feels pain, we all feel pain.
Tonight, we danced the night away with our friend. She was happy and worries free.
Next week, her battle to eradicate cancer from her life begins. She will destroy Wendy.
