Peyton's Nose Jewlery

I got a call at 4:30 from Peyton's Daycare. An "earring" had been shoved up his nose. It happened at about 10 that morning. I'm not mad at the fact that something was up his nose. I was upset at the fact that no one called me until 4:30! My child had this thing up his nose all day long.

I thought I would have to take him to the hospital to get this extracted from his nose. It was up there pretty good.

First things first though, I had to pick up the other two children and Alli had her schools open house. I figured, it's been up there all day, he can survive another hour.

I showed one of my friends and Girl Scout parents what had happened to him since she is fascinated with gross and disgusting things. :) Turns out her husband, had what was needed to remove it!

Peyton let him do it. The thing came out. It was not an earring.

Three guesses what it is!

Anyway, I am grateful for friends with medical backgrounds and resources. They saved me lots of money and lots of time. And they are just over all cool people and I am thankful to know them.

Peyton is all good!

Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you.

I'm not sure on this one! I will edit when I figure it out!

Chamber of Secrets....

READ!

I watched "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" also. It was good. I liked it a lot. Why haven't I read and watched these before now??

Recipe #1: Apple, Cheddar and Bacon Monte Cristos

Recipe is from "Everyday with Rachael Ray"

What you will need: 12 slices of bacon, 8 slices of bread (I used texas toast), sharp cheddar cheese, 2 gala apples, cored and thinly sliced, 3 large eggs, 1/2 cup whole milk, a little nutmeg, butter
Bake the bacon on a broiler pan at 375 degree until just crisp, about 20 minutes.
Arrange 4 slices of bread with some cheese and the apples on top.
Beat the eggs with the milk and a little nutmeg. Heat a large griddle over medium heat. When ready, arrange 3 slices of bacon on each sandwich and top with a little more cheese and 4 more slices of bread.
Coat each sandwich in the egg batter. Grease the griddle with butter and griddle the sandwiches until deep golden on each side and the cheese has melted.
Halve the sandwich and enjoy. I know I did.

Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die.

I want to climb Mount Everest. At least to Base Camp or Advance Base Camp.

North Kansas City District Strings Festival

400 5th Grade Strings Students
Tanner and his teacher, Ms. Overstreet
Tanner and me after the concert!

I was really impressed with all the grades that performed at the show! They all did a beautiful job! Congrats, Tanner! I am so proud of you!

As heard at the strings concert:
"I was gonna tease you and tell you the seat was taken, but you were just too cute and didn't want to hurt your feelings" -- Why thank you!

Random thought:
At my Strings concert, we played the "Jurassic Park" theme, tonight the high school played the "Pirates of the Caribbean" theme.

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.
